The collection moved between the precision of traditional tailoring and the relaxed language of workwear and sportswear. Familiar pieces were taken apart and reconstructed, their original purpose gently unsettled.

EENK SS27

What I find particularly alluring about EENK is its ability to make elegance feel personal rather than prescriptive. Lee’s approach isn't about dressing for a single occasion or chasing the next fleeting trend; it’s about finding pleasure in the act of getting dressed. There is confidence in these clothes, but it is a confidence that feels lived-in, never forced.

Florentina Leitner SS27

This season, Florentina Leitner offered to dress me for her SS27 presentation at Paris Fashion Week, and honestly? It made me feel like I had finally arrived. Not only did I absolutely rock the cutest “You Are a Star” tee, a beaded tiara, and striped knee high socks, but I also felt like I had been welcomed into the inner world of Florentina Leitner. And what a delicious little universe it is.

TIME SS27

Materiality was central to the collection. Through an experimental cold dyeing technique, fabrics took on organic variations in color, embracing irregularity rather than uniformity. Lustrous silks, unexpected textural contrasts and softly irregular pleating brought a sense of movement and individuality to the garments.

Shiatzy Chen SS27

Rather than simply translating the flower into a familiar floral motif, Chen explored its more subtle qualities; its resilience, delicate structure and natural elegance. The result was a thoughtful interplay of fluid silhouettes, sheer layering and sculptural proportions, where softness met a quiet sense of strength.

Vivienne Westwood SS27

The collection also embraced a more liberated vision of masculinity, with relaxed nightshirts and sensual silhouettes challenging traditional ideas of menswear. It was quintessentially Westwood; provocative without losing its sense of humor, and romantic without becoming overly precious.

Reverie by Caroline Hu SS27

What makes Reverie so compelling is this feeling of being suspended between realities. Rather than simply presenting a collection, Carolie Hu creates an atmosphere, inviting us to experience fashion as something immersive, emotional and a little surreal.

Asparagus SS27

What I found particularly interesting was the tension running through each look. Rather than seeking harmony, Lee allowed contrasting elements to coexist, giving the clothes a sense of movement and individuality. There is a certain confidence in leaving things unresolved, and ASPARAGUS made a case for precisely that.

Bombon SS27

What makes BONBOM so interesting is its ability to challenge conventional ideas of dressing without sacrificing a sense of wearability. There is an intentionality to the tension; softness meets structure, intimacy meets spectacle, and familiar references to Western dress are reworked into something decidedly contemporary.

Uma Wang SS27

The appeal lies in the interplay of contrasts. Fluid silhouettes meet more structured forms, while layered fabrics and tactile finishes create a sense of depth without feeling overly constructed. There is an ease to the clothes, as though they have evolved naturally rather than been meticulously arranged. This tension between control and spontaneity gives the collection its distinctive character.

Maitrepierre SS27

Inspired by the French Narrative Figuration movement of the 1960s and early Pop Art, Maitrepierre transforms familiar wardrobe staples into expressive, almost surreal objects. A cardigan becomes a pixelated composition through its buttons, denim takes on new dimension through sculptural pleating and tiger prints bring a spirited graphic energy to the mix. There is humor here, but also a clear appreciation for the craft behind each transformation.

ANREALAGE SS27

Inspired by the way living creatures transform and the digital skins of virtual avatars, Morinaga reimagined clothing as something capable of evolving before our eyes. Sculptural silhouettes, intricate scales, and shifting surfaces challenged the idea that a garment must have one fixed identity.

Torishe Ju SS27

At Paris Fashion Week, Torishéju Dumi reminded us that fashion is at its most compelling when it dares to unsettle. For SS27, the British designer transformed the runway into a theatrical exploration of spectacle, identity, and the fine line between beauty and disarray.

Adam-Leenaerdt reminds us that personal style is about more than looking polished. It’s about having a point of view, a sense of humor, and the confidence to wear something simply because it makes you feel fabulous. Consider this my official permission to overdress for your next grocery run. I know I will be... per usual of course.

MAXHOSA SS27

This was not heritage reimagined for outside approval; it was heritage presented on its own terms. There is also something meaningful about the brand’s commitment to local production, with its own knitting factories in Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape, where the wool for its knitwear is sourced. The ambition extends beyond the runway to the future of South African craftsmanship and the possibilities of a more locally rooted luxury industry.

Liza Keane SS27

Keane’s SS27 collection is a powerful reminder that clothing can be more than an aesthetic statement. It can become a language for resilience, vulnerability and reinvention. Rain On My Parade left us with a striking thought; even after the storm, beauty remains. Sometimes, it is the imperfections that make it worth looking at twice.

5000 Featuring Zakia SS27

Titled Tune In, Turn On and Drop Out, the presentation, held at 180 Studios, explored the complicated relationship we have with the idea of home. Rather than a traditional runway spectacle, the experience felt intimate and immersive, drawing guests into a carefully considered environment where clothing and sound worked together to tell a deeply personal story.
