TIME SS27

Korean fashion house TIME brought this sentiment to the heart of Paris Fashion Week with a presentation at the historic Théâtre du Châtelet. Titled “The First Layer-Into One,” the collection explored the relationship between identity, time and transformation. Rather than focusing on reinvention through excess, TIME proposed something more thoughtful; the idea that beauty emerges through the meeting of different experiences, textures and perspectives.

The setting played an integral role in bringing this vision to life. Beneath an illuminated, angled frame, the theatre became an intimate stage for movement and expression, creating an atmosphere where fashion, art and emotion could exist in conversation.

Materiality was central to the collection. Through an experimental cold dyeing technique, fabrics took on organic variations in color, embracing irregularity rather than uniformity. Lustrous silks, unexpected textural contrasts and softly irregular pleating brought a sense of movement and individuality to the garments. There was an appreciation for the beauty of the unfinished, the unexpected and the naturally occurring.

The collection also featured a collaboration with artist MOKA LEE, whose explorations of portraiture, still life and landscape informed the season's creative narrative. Her layered approach to image making echoed TIME's interest in the complexity of contemporary femininity; never singular, always evolving.

What makes this presentation particularly interesting is the way TIME continues to reconsider its own identity on an international stage. Rooted in the history of Korean womenswear and its relationship with the modern working woman, the house is expanding its language beyond traditional notions of professional dressing. Under Creative Director Jung In Choi, TIME is building a wardrobe that feels both sophisticated and expressive, balancing its heritage with a more contemporary global perspective.

The most meaningful aspect of SS27 is its underlying philosophy. In a fashion landscape often driven by constant innovation, TIME reminds us that creativity doesn't always mean starting over. Sometimes, it is about understanding what already exists, embracing its imperfections and finding new meaning in the layers.

Perhaps that is the real beauty of Into One, not becoming someone entirely different, but discovering the many dimensions of who we already are.
